My 7 yo daughter does competitive gymnastics. She's in the gym 6 hours a week and very conditioned. 2 years ago she started having unexplained seizures. Finally just this week she was diagnosed with NCS. Normally teenagers develop and outgrow it by their mid 20s. I was just reading that athletes tend to be predisposed to NCS. Is there any other young athletes out there with this condition? Her HR at night gets as low as 49 bpm. The cardiologists (several of them) keep telling me this is normal for someone as active as her but it just seems too low to me. She's been cleared to continue gymnastics with no restrictions and to drink 6 quarts of gatorade a day and increase salt intake.
