I am a Gold Level coach in the sport of tenpin bowling currently on assignment in Romania. I am currently writing an article on the kinetic energy chain associated with efficiency in throwing a bowling ball. I am looking for research articles that have found specific % relationships of influence on efficiency throwing (legs, torso, shoulder, forearm, hand, etc.) for a literature review.
I am writing about energy transfer from the body to the bowling ball. Any advice on articles or current research findings in softball, baseball, tennis, golf, football (quarterback), hammer, discus, shot put, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
As a bowler and biomechanist, I have always been interested in the biomechanics of bowling. Unfortunately, I am not aware of any published studies. Depending on what you are looking for, you might try and contact the Bowling International Research and Training Center. bowl.com/ITRC/ITRC_Home/About/
I talked with some of their researchers a few years ago and they provided me some mocap data they had collected on one of their professional bowlers. They may have done some work that might help you out.
