Total Control Balls seem to be everywhere at youth baseball and softball tournaments in our area. As a high school coach and dad of a 6yr old daughter I am beyond perturbed that these coaches are tossing/throwing these weighted balls for pregame hitting warm up. I feel there is no purpose as the players are likely to experience injury in the wrist, forearm, fingers due to such a force on impact. I have seen many players stopping their swing at contact as if they are anticipating feeling something. The players that I see this from most often are training with these balls. What science or study is there?? Thanks for any input.
