From baseball to golf, from youth to professionals, overuse injuries in sports are everywhere, and the American Sports Medicine Institute (www.asmi.org) is right in the middle of finding solutions. ASMI is a non-profit institute with a mission to improve the understanding, prevention, and treatment of sports-related injuries through research and education.
ASMI is currently seeking a sports biomechanist to join our team in conducting biomechanical research as well as evaluating baseball pitchers and other athletes. This is a permanent, full-time position in Birmingham, Alabama.
The successful applicant should have a master’s degree in biomechanics or a related field. Experiences with motion capture and digitizing (such as Cortex by Motion Analysis Corporation), programming (such as MatLab, C++, or Sky Script), scientific publication, statistics, and working with athletes are preferred.
