In the past month or so, I have noticed a lump about a centimeter in diameter that is along my left oblique in my groin area. It is very firm, and is tender to the touch. It does not hurt when doing any specific motions. A few weeks ago, I did have pain sitting up in bed and motions of that sort, however, the pain has completely receded. The lump's pain had also receded, although the size was still there. Yesterday I did some olympic weightlifting, and the lump pain came back. I would like to know your thoughts on what this may be.

Based on your story this sounds like this could be inguinal lymphadenopathy or an inguinal hernia. This is different from a "sports hernia" and the next step would be evaluation by your primary care physician to better differentiate between the two diagnoses.
