Research at the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) includes motion studies of full-body kinematics as well as joint biomechanics of tissue properties in cadaveric specimens. We are currently seeking a biomechanist / biomedical engineer to work on joint modeling tying it all together. For example, we have quantified in-vivo biomechanics of baseball pitching as well as in-vitro biomechanics of elbow and shoulder joints, and are pursuing biomechanical modeling to better understand soft tissue injuries in pitching.
This is a full-time, permanent position at ASMI in Birmingham, Alabama. The applicant should have a master’s degree in biomechanics, biomedical engineering, or related field. The position is open until the successful applicant is found.
If interested, please send cover letter and CV to Dr. Fleisig at the email address shown below. Include your career goals, three professional references, when you would be available to start, and any other pertinent information.
