I fell three days ago and landed on my wrist bracing myself. Immediately heard a pop, pain and Slight swelling. Waited till the next day to go to the emergency room. Physician assistant did no exam of my wrist he only took breathing went for x-rays said it wasn't fracture put me in a splint and sent me on my way. Since then I've had swelling and extreme pain in my wrist. I've been told that I might need to have it rexrayed right because swelling can mask a fracture. The pain is constant all day but at night it intensifies. I just don't know what to do.

Yes, you are correct. Sometimes X-rays lag behind the injury and fractures do not show up clearly until the 10-14 day mark. If you are still tender in your wrist, repeat imaging as well as an appointment with a sports medicine physician is highly recommended. Have you had any improvement since the ER visit? With what motions, does your wrist hurt?
