Good afternoon. My son started having discomfort when throwing after 2 months off. Describes pain above olecranon after throwing. Doctor ordered mri and surely has contusion at olecranon. My question is should he see an ortho, no throwing, no lifting, how long to rest? We are in Tampa bay. Appreciate any imput.

Your son should definitely stop all throwing until he sees a sports medicine doctor, as throwing might make things worse. I can recommend Dr. Katulle Eaton in St. Petersburg, one of the top baseball doctors in the country. Feel free to tell Dr. Eaton that I recommended him for you.
Thank you doctor. My son's coach also recommended dr. eaton. Problem is that appointment will not be with him until mid march. My other son seperated his elbow and has throwers elbow and has seen dr. Bradley in brandon fl. Surely he can see him sooner. For both, freshman and sophomore this season is off. No throwing at all. Will strength exercises of upper body be avoided?
