Has baseball ever done any studies that identify the ideal pitch speed/release angle/spin rate for the ideal curveball or any other pitch?
Although I don’t know the answer for sure, I’ll take a crack at giving my opinion about why its very unlikely.
What is IDEAL for any pitch, is really so subjective, I doubt that it could be measured. FI, let’s assume the batter is a 6’3” RHB who tends to pull the ball, the bases are loaded, the team on offense is ahead by 1 run in the top of the 9th, the pitcher is a 6’ LHP who throws from a low arm angle, who doesn’t have a very good curve, the last pitch he threw was a FB up and in for a 3-1 count, and the game is being played in Denver on a sultry summer night.
Change any one of those things, plus about a thousand more, and the result changes. Because of that, I just don’t see any way possible to get what you asked for. Try restating your question.
