I pulled my calf muscle this morning playing tennis. I tried to dart to the ball and my calf muscle felt like someone hit the back of it hard with a tennis ball. I iced it and took Advil and can walk on it better this evening than this morning.
I've iced it several times today for 20 minutes and kept my leg elevated.
Are there any "exercises" to help it heal quicker?
Before I went on the tennis court I walked about a half a mile and ran around 4 tennis courts 2 times. Then I stretched. This morning in Mobile it was around 58 degrees so it was a little cool.
In the future do you think if I wear warmup pants when its cool it might prevent a calf pull?
Any warmup exercises you can recommend so it doesn't happen again?
I did purchase the ASMI Book "Preventive & Rehabilitative Exercises for the Lower Extremity" in case there are exercises on some of the pages you recommend I do.
