Son is 18 and has had pain in elbow for couple of months(left-handed baseball pitcher). Have gone to 2 orthopedic's and have gone to PT and taken NSAID's. No pain while throwing until last week. He went to ASMI in Aug of 08 and mechanics looked good. Who is the best doc in the Houston area to take him to?

Take your son to Walter Lowe, MD in Houston or Drs. Andrews/Cain/Dugas in Birmingham. They are all experts. Of course if you come to Birmingham, you can have him re-evaluated at ASMI to see if there has been any detrimental change in his mechanics related to his elbow pain.
In any case, it might be valuable to first call Dave Fortenbaugh (205-918-2119, email@example.com) to review your son's mechanics.
Initial treatment for torn UCL consists of medications and ice to relieve pain and reduce the swelling of the elbow. You must stop your son participating in the sport that caused the injury. Occasionally a splint, brace or cast may be recommended while the acute phase subsides.
