I m 20 years old. I always practiced sport. Last year I started going to the gym. I train 3 times a week for 1 and a half hour. Now my lower back feels weird. My lower back feels rigid, hardened. I keep my lower back muscles tense, the bones feel like they re lifted but also constricted between my lower back muscles. I feel like my posture s getting better. But also, if I bend down really quick my lower back bones crack. It s not painful, it s sometimes a good sensation, but it s also weird and kinda scary, do I have a lower back problem?

Typically when young patients have back pain it is mechanical in nature, meaning that it is muscular/bone issue from overuse or weakness in certain parts of your core. Cracking and popping is not concerning unless you have pain. More concerning symptoms are things such as leg weakness, bowel or bladder incontinence, weight loss or fever. If it is mechanical back pain first treatment is anti-inflammatories and physical therapy. If it is minimal pain then you are probably OK to just cut back on activities that bother you and rest. If it is bothersome to the point it is affecting your day to day life then I would recommend you seeing a orthopedic physician.
