Im a 32 year old male cyclist. In my 20s I was a top level cyclist. Having been back into in for only 18months I have struggled with the training to the point of going to the Dr and getting a blood test which revealed an under active thyroid.
The levels were over 5 and my dr is trying to get it down to 1.
Im just wanting to know whether or not it is common in endurance athletes to have this problem and how it affects athletic performance. (fatigue is the thing im struggling with still) Ive been on throxine for 1 week but am told it will take at least 4 to take effect. Am i likely to bounce back to my old self or not ?
